An aspiring actress from Rockmart could be on the verge of her big break, but she needs the community’s support, and all that requires is a few clicks of a computer mouse.

Rockmart native Hannah Fierman graduated from Rockmart High School in 1998 and has been pursuing a career in acting ever since, doing independent films out of Atlanta.  Before her foray into film, she also acted in numerous theatrical productions.

“I’ve been acting since I was a kid,” she said. “It’s a lot of fun.  I like telling stories.”

Fierman, who resides in Atlanta, now has a chance to star in the first feature film ever to be cast by an online community, LiveMansion.com.  The multimillion dollar feature is a thriller called “Live Mansion: The Movie” and will be distributed nationally, possibly in theaters.

The Live Mansion community is a lot like a MySpace for actors and is a new way to promote and cast million dollar film projects.  Fierman is a finalist, the only one from Georgia, and is up for the role of a character named Meegan.

Celebrity judges Spike Lee, John Leguizamo, Michael Rapaport and Cara Buono all have their say in the competition; however online votes will decide the competition.

Voting for the final round takes place Monday through April 19 on www.livemansion.com.  Free registration to the site is required to vote.  After creating an account and logging in, you will be prompted to select which character you are voting for.

Fierman said she still keeps in contact with some of her friends from Polk County and is now asking the community as a whole get online and vote for her.

What she has accomplished thus far is no small feat.  Eight lead roles are being cast and each role is down to three finalists from a field of 1,000 entries.

Fierman and the other finalists were flown to Manhattan last week for screen tests and film auditions, which will be posted online for voters to watch.

Since its launch last summer, LiveMansion.com has grown to more than 100,000 members and more than 600,000 votes were cast during the first three rounds of the director competition and casting call.

When Fierman heard about the competition from a friend, she signed up on a whim, not really expecting anything to happen.

“I didn’t take it very seriously because I didn’t think it would be a big deal,” she said.

Fierman just recently completed two years of shooting on the fan film “The Legend of Zelda: Hero of Time,” a movie based on the classic video game series that has been receiving a good bit of Internet buzz.  She plays Princess Zelda in the film; part of which she said was shot at Berry College in Rome.

Most of the films Fierman has appeared in can be viewed only at festivals, but she believes the Zelda film will be able to be viewed or purchased online.

“I have been barely scraping by on small films and am ready for the real deal and feel that this is my chance to make or break my career,” she said.  “This is a wonderful opportunity to make my dreams of being a working actor come true.”

Fierman is the daughter of Susan and Raymond Waters of Rockmart and the sister of Ben Fierman of Atlanta.
