Looking back at pictures of the 2008 Sand Diego Comic-Con, I noticed the picture I took of a life size Iron Man action figure at the Sideshow Collectible booth. At the booth Sideshow was promoting some of its life size props, which included a variety of Marvel Comics props such as Iron Man helmets and Thor bandannas.

However, the coolest piece of all, the life-size Iron Man statue, is obviously not for sale or not available in multiple quantities for the mass market. Other parts of the San Diego Con also featured life size models of the various Iron Man characters from the 2008 Blockbuster movie.

I assume that the market for life-size statues is very limited and one where only rich collectors and hardcore fans engage in. Yet, the fact that at such events life-size models are often featured means that it’s possible for them to be built and manufactured and deliver to clients who reserve them. Usually companies that make such props are close to the movie industry and also make special effects.

The only drawback to having a life size Iron Man statue would probably all the villains that would try to attack my home to pick up a fight with ole shell head!
