Kyle Rainer is back as Green Lantern but rings of lanterns from all over the universe are being deactivated and coming to him. Why is this happening and why have rings chosen him? Rayner may not have enough time to find out as representatives from the other corps want their rings back.

This was a surprise hit for me. I didn’t expect to like this comic book. Seems that everything Green Lantern after the reboot is good. I like that Rainer’s origin has be reworked somewhat so that he no longer is the guy that just stumbled in the Green Lantern ring at the right time. Now, he actually deserves to wear the ring as a real fearless Green Lantern. The creativity is still there though. I like his new look and the new opportunities he is being given in this series. Let’s face it, Kyle Rainer is the Green Lantern of my generation. Sure Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Guy Gardner were first, but Rainer is the one Green Lantern that feels the most familiar to me. In the brief pages that we’ve seen him in action, he’s already proven why I like him the best already and why I’ll gladly follow this series. I really like the premise of a book featuring all the Lanterns.

I’m not used to Kirkham, but I like his work already. There’s almost a hint of animé in his work, but with full composition being influenced by American comics. He can draw gore and aliens. His characters have good facial expressions and don’t all look the same.  Who could ask for anything more?
