Green Arrow’s friend and ally Police Chief Westberg has been slain by Merlyn. Many in Seattle are blaming Green Arrow for the crime, and the Dark Archer is all too willing to let GA take the heat.

But that only strengthens Green Arrow’s resolve. He has also forged a new alliance with one of the few “civilians” to believe in him. Is this the beginning of a beautiful friendship, or the start of something far more sinister?

Retreating to the forests outside the city, he allows Merlyn to come looking for him, on his home turf. A sound strategy, were it not for the opportunity for betrayal from the most unlikely of sources.

In this issue, hints are dropped, some that long-time Green Arrow fans may recognize as allusions to the past (or possible red herrings, it’s hard to tell sometimes). Others may be the key to Oliver Queen’s future, sending it along a fresh, new path. Promises for next issue are thought provoking. All I can say is, “It’s about time.”

Benjamin Percy is living up to much of the hype promised when the series was originally announced. I had my doubts at the time, and I'm pleased to say I was proven completely wrong.
