A younger and meaner Green Arrow fights Lime and Light for and then has to face a gang of celebrity criminals that have set a trap for him. Will he make it alive?

I missed the first issue of Green Arrow but I was able to pick up the storyline from this issue and quickly understand what was going on. This Green Arrow is not yet very interesting to me though. The comic book was solidly constructed, but this is probably not the Green Arrow I wanted to read about. It felt like Green Arrow Ollie Queen and Green Arrow Connor Hawke had been merged into one character which has none of the charms of the other two. He’s closer to the Smallville television series, instead of the cocky lefty I was used to. Nothing happens that make the series essential. There are a lot of lame villains and trick arrows exposed though. It felt like I was reading about pilot of a lame action-based television show.

Jurgens and Pérez deliver a crisp and solid comic book, but it feels dated and from an earlier generation. It’s not to my liking. I’ll have to seriously consider whether I’ll get the next issue.

Rating: 6 /10
