Who Goes There?

The surrogates takes the idea of an internet avatar, an artificial representation of a person and extrapolates it.  In a leap of science fiction worthy of Asimov,Robert Venditti created a world where people have cut off from each other another and 'live' through remote controlled humanoid robots; surrogates. But in this future earth, this future America, not everybody is happy with this situation and somebody decides to do something about it. Detective Harvey Greer is sent to investigate and soon an anti-surrogate movement is under suspicion...

Written by Robert Venditti and illustrated by Brett Weldele The Surrogates first appeared as a five issue comic book in 2005 it was collected in a graphic novel in mid 2006 and followed by a prequel, The Surrogates: Flesh & Bone in July of this year. There is now a graphic novel of both stories combined called; The Surrogates Operator's Manual, which is a limited edition hardcover.

Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) directs an all star cast of established actor who are adept at both drama and action.  This promises to be an exciting and thought provoking thriller that hints at a possible direction for humans and society. This is precisely what all good science fiction has done to great effect down the years. Well, I'm intrigued. How about you?
