Surf or Die with Koni Waves!

The surf forecast looks deadly this May, as
Arcana Studio releases Koni Waves #2 to comic shops. An investigation
of recent tourist killings pits our heroine against a pack of vampire
surfers known as the Black Bear Clan.
Koni
should be used to this type of excitement though if the past few months
have been any indication. The release of her series has coincided with
the announcement of a line of Koni Waves action figures from Shocker
Toys. Puea, the Tiki Monster from issue #1, received rave reviews at
Toy Fair and will be given the Shockini treatment. Based on designs by
series co-creator, Dexter Weeks, the figure features jaw-dropping comic
accurate detail with levels of articulation Shockini collectors demand.
Puea is the first in a wave of new figures that will be released this
summer.
Also,
koniwaves.com has been unveiled. It will be your quickest route to the
islands! It features creator and character bios, exclusive artwork, and
the tiki goodness you’ve come to expect from Koni Waves.

Besides
the toys and website, the creators of the series will be on hand at
Wizard World Philadelphia to unveil a Philly themed Koni Waves limited
print. It will be the first of many major con appearances to promote
the book. Koni Waves #2 should be in stores by then and fans are in for
quite a treat. Issue #2 introduces readers to Ingrid, a mysterious
European who visited Hawaii in the 1800’s. There were whispers of
vampirism, but nobody lived long enough to prove it. When she took a
fancy to one of the local surfers, the Black Bear Clan was born!
In
addition, issue #2 will feature another retailer exclusive cover from
Stormwatch Comics in West Berlin, New Jersey. The exclusive covers for
issue 1 were a smash hit, as the initial order of 100 copies had to be
bumped up to 600 to supply the demand. Issue #2’s exclusive cover will
feature new artwork from series regular artist, Stephen Sistilli and is
sure to be just as hot!
Koni
