THOR #75: "GODS AND MEN"

The climax of Thor's reign as the ruler of Asgard begins NOW! The action heats up and the heavens tremble as all the Thunder God has built comes to ruins - and those closest to Thor betray him!

Truth, Lies and Hammer, this would have made a good subtitle, as when you read through the issue so much becomes clear. Certain things have been alluded too Magni, but now he is finally seeing things as they are. The great thing about this book is the way Jurgen's has spun everything together. Past happenings have escalated into huge events and it's a joy to see this occurring. Also the concept he is addressing. It's not a black and white issue and good intensions can become skewed. But if handled right it makes a great story and this is being handled right :)

I have always enjoyed Eaton's work and this is no exception. Magni is a big man, but his body language conveys a lot of the emotion that is troubling his soul. One of Eaton's great strengths is his ability for facial subtlety and it has such an impact. He also gives us a magnificent Magni at the end and a player whose foreboding strength is expertly captured. Sienkiewicz has also blessed us with a glorious cover that epitomises the strength and emotional upheaval of the book.
