Rated “T+” for “Older Teen”

Life is wonderful at Grace Field House, an orphanage, or so it seems...  The orphanage's three brightest children:  Emma, Norman, and Ray, are all 11-years-old.  Like the other orphans, they enjoy daily studying and exams, and also the delicious food and plentiful playtime.  However, the children's loving, but stern caretaker, “Mom,” hides the fact that everything is not what it seems.

As The Promised Neverland, Vol. 10 (entitled Rematch; Chapters 80 to 88) opens, Emma and the children of “Goldy Pond” (the place Emma knew as “A08-63”) continue their battles against the demons of Goldy Pond.  They are the demons who use Goldy Pond as a secret hunting preserve.  Now, Goldy Pond leader, Lucas, leads a few teams against the powerful demon, Lord Bayon.

Meanwhile, within the village of Goldy Pond, Emma faces Grand Duke Leuvis, who makes her an intriguing offer.  Can these youths take on some of the most powerful demons they have ever faced, destroy them, and survive?

[This volume includes a bonus comic and “How to Draw?! Emma's Hair.”]

THE LOWDOWN:  The Promised Neverland manga apparently continues to be one of the best graphic novels currently available and will like be up to its very end.  It reads like classic dystopian, young adult fiction, but its dark mood cannot eclipse the series' hopeful vibes of salvation for the children.

The Promised Neverland Graphic Novel Volume 10 is the latest top entry in this winning series.  Like the previous three volumes, Vol. 10 raises the stakes for the young heroes.  Writer Kaiu Shirai and artist Posuka Demizu make this volume a super battle manga by offering three intense human versus demon struggles.  Satsuki Yamashita's translation delivers the heat of battle and action, carrying the readers through some tense moments.  There is a reason that The Promised Neverland anime is a popular series.  Its source material is also hot

I READS YOU RECOMMENDS:  Readers of dark fantasy graphic novels will find a terrifying story in Shonen Jump's The Promised Neverland.
