Masahiro Matsunaga, a law student at K-University, catches sight of a truly beautiful boy.  Takane Takekawa is a gorgeous, seductive blond, and for Masahiro, it’s really lust at first sight.  Masahiro just has to take this sexy thing to bed, but is shocked how easy it is to bed Takane.  To him, saying “yes” to Masahiro’s booty call is as easy as answering the phone.

What Masahiro didn’t expect was to fall in love with Takane.  One night of bed-rocking love making isn’t enough; Takane must be his and his alone.  Takane, however, is happy entertaining many lovers; in fact, he has many “sex friends,” (friends with benefits) – at least 10.  How can Masahiro change the wanton ways of this man-whore?  And will Takane’s ultra-skilled… sex friend Tadanori Tomita be willing to let his favorite lay become a one-man, man?

THE LOWDOWN:  In spite of its salacious plot, The Dawn of Love, a yaoi manga from Kazuho Hirokawa, is a fairly conventional story of a love triangle, as adult romances go.  Sure, the couples are gay and the object of desire is a shameless hussy, but the winner in this romantic triangle is the man who can be most romantic.  It’s the man who can give with his heart the way he can give with his lust.  The Dawn of Love offers the realization that a lover is no longer just the person with which to have sex, but the one who satisfies the romantic heart, as well as the loins.

Hirokawa’s art is superb, some of the best readers will find in a yaoi title.  It’s not so much that her figure drawing is good as it’s her ability to pose figures in positions of relaxation and intimacy.  She matches the pants, moans, groans, exaltations, and cries of a lover’s name with pretty scenes of arms, legs, and awry torsos signaling the throes of passion.  Through the skill of her pencil, Hirokawa also creates the perfect uke (bottom) and female correspondent in Takane.  Emotional, contemplative, and petulant, she… I mean, he knows what he wants.  The Dawn of Love has in Takane the closet thing to Scarlett O’Hara that yaoi manga may ever have.

POSSIBLE AUDIENCE:  Readers who want hot sex, beautiful art, and scandalous characters in their yaoi will find it in The Dawn of Love.
