SUPER-SIZED ISSUE OF THE 99 SHIPS TO COMIC SHOPS

Issue 5 of acclaimed series features 40 pages, maintains regular cover price

Arriving in comic book stores nationwide on February 20th, THE 99 #5 introduces four new members to the Teshkeel Comics superhero team. With so much great content to include in a single issue, Teshkeel has decided to super-size THE 99 #5 with extra pages, while keeping the cover price at just $2.99.

“As the cast of THE 99 expands, our writing team of Naif Al-Mutawa and Fabian Nicieza has continued to craft exciting stories that introduce new team members,” said Teshkeel Publisher Sven Larsen. “With THE 99 #5, we found ourselves with a page count that exceeded previous regular issues. Rather than cut the story short, we felt it important to preserve its natural flow; increasing the page-count allowed the story to stay intact, and we’re sure fans will love the issue!”

Fans will also love that Teshkeel has kept the cover price of the issue at $2.99, the same price as regular-sized issues.

Handling the art chores on this special issue are Ron Wagner and Vicente Cifuentes. Wagner is a veteran illustrator, and a graduate of the famed Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art. His credits include Batman, Superman, Daredevil and The Flash. Cifuentes, a native of Spain, is a rising young star in the comic book industry.

“Ron is a true comics professional, and we’re all fans of his bold, energetic style. We’re thrilled to have him on the book,” added Larsen. “We’re equally excited to bring Vicente aboard. Our creative team is truly international…just like THE 99!”
