RETURN TO ASGARD! This is the issue that anyone who read Thor Disassembled MUST HAVE. As Beta Ray Bill returns to Asgard he finds himself in the company of celestial beings and the remnants of Asgard. What has Ragnarok done to the land of the gods? What will he find there? Will he find a final home for his people, or a burning hell!

I’m not really sure how I feel about this issue. Yes, the story does get us from A to B, but the issue felt a little too convenient. There were some situations put in place that could have been more compelling and had a bigger bang, than what they did. And other situations seemed only to be there, as an excuse to do something else. It will be interesting to see how this concludes and hopefully it’ll end with the fire it started with.

The opening flashback is a good way to start the book off and the colouring is nice. The first splash page does look a little rushed, but the next one (splash page), oh damn, that is an extremely well crafted sequence and the way it’s been broken into the fragmented pieces jus rounds it off. Beta Ray gets a new look this issue too. His Thor homage was good and all, but his new garms really set him apart and give him another edge. The end of the book really does communicate that chaotic feel to the reader. And that cover…….damn!!!

Rating: C /10
