This is the conclusion to Grant Morrison's last X-Men story. With Sublime ready to destroy the remaining X-Men, with the help of their form colleague Phoenix. But the BIG question is, how will these events affect the present day teams?
So I was hoping Morrison would wrap everything up that was dangling and by doing so, tell a good enjoyable story. On the most part Morrison did wrap things up. We find out who Sublime is and how he came to be, we also get deaths a plenty and a few surprises thrown out of nowhere. So this should have enjoyable and fun, but it seemed to read in a lethargic manor and a lot of things seemed to be thrown out there for shock (for no better word) value. The end itself, even though it made sense in its execution, it really brought a mute point over the series in itself. There may have been disclosure in the ending, but at what expense to the arc!?!
I have to say that this is probably Silvestri’s best issue out of the four, but it still was underwhelming. His work wasn’t as scratchy, but then when he had close ups of Wolverine there wasn’t any sort of emotion on his face, it was just a shell. And Silvestri doesn’t seem to be able to draw fingers lol. There were some nice scenes at the end with Sublime though and the cover was OK. But this really didn’t highlight Silvestri’s talent for me.
