Sony Computer Entertainment America announced the release date for Resistance 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the best-selling Playstation 3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man, as well as a packed collector's edition for the game yesterday. Resistance 2 will be releasing in North America on November 4 ^th . The collector's edition of Resistance 2 will go for $79.99 USD/CAD and actually sounds like it will be absolutely worth the extra $20 over the regular edition, as it will include:

Can't wait for the game's launch? This October, Playstation 3 owners will have the opportunity to get an early look at Resistance 2 by participating in the game's online multiplayer and cooperative beta, powered by the Playstation Network. Insomniac Games says that Resistance 2 is its team's most ambitious project ever. “ The team's goals from the onset have been to heighten the online experience and encourage experienced and novice players to jump online," said Ted Price, President & CEO, Insomniac Games. “With an eight-player, co-op campaign and 60-player squad-based competitive multiplayer, Resistance 2 offers players a complete online experience on a scale like no other. Resistance 2 will be releasing exclusively for Playstation 3 on November 4 ^th and is not yet rated, though Sony clearly expects it to be rated M for Mature, as it has placed an M rating on the box in the image above.
