1. JSA #65, 32 pts
Easily the best Hourman story that I have read. This issue addresses family relationships and Hourman's character in a very touching way. Johns is firing on all cylinders.
2. Gotham Central #23, 15 pts
"Coming off what has to be Gotham Central's best arc to date, co-writer Greg Rucka returns with yet another Renee Montoya story. I don't mind her as a character, I would rather see him flesh out more of the 'night shift' of Gotham's MCU. Still its a strong begining to the story as more homicide cases begin to flow. Now if Rucka can give life into Wonder Woman and and Adv. of Superman like he does with the roster of Gotham's Finest, he would actually be a real damn fine writer; yet he got his strong areas; Gotham is it, the rest of the DCU should be verboten to him. Michael Lark, like in all of his prior issues and previous comic projects is just dynamite. Its stil the best comic in the DCU, yet Rucka's issues do lag behind Brubaker's." DubipR, DC Message Boards
(tied for 3rd) Teen Titans #15, 9 pts
Probably the best issue of the series. The sensitivity and great characterization that Johns has brought to JSA returns to this series. Extra kudos for a great characterization of Ares.
(tied for 3rd) The Outsiders #15, 9 pts
"This story rocked & the ending topped it off nicely. I enjoyed seeing the intricacies of the Fearsome 4(?) decide where they should fire the nuclear missiles at first. The action in this was incredible! And, 3 of the Fearsome 4 gets away. I don't understand why Mammoth didn't get away with them, but it's ok. And, Dr.Sivana, has an island getaway..or something. It wasn't the best ending for the heroes, but Vancouver didn't get nuked. " garthling, DC Message Boards
5. Aquaman #22, 8 pts

"Why is Pfeifer leaving again? "With the Fishes" builds on the foundation established in "American Tidal" and it's clear that the waiting has paid off. I'm very disappointed Pfeifer is leaving (next issue? this issue? the solicits are not clear) because it seems he had plans for Sub Diego. I'll stick with the title long enough to give the new creative team a chance, but this seems like change for change's sake and not the brightest editorial decision DC has ever made." 6. Knights of the Dinner Table #95, 6 pts
A beautiful, absolutely excellent conclusion to the Tremble saga. Jolly & Co., you ROCK! The twists and turns in the plot were great, but this is always the case in KODT.
(tied for 7th) Powers #4, 5 pts
"A somewhat quiet issue as Deena confronts someone she put in prison." darklaw14, DC Message Boards
(tied for 7th) The Pulse #5, 5 pts
"I mostly pick this series up because I miss Alias. The Pulse just makes me miss Alias more. This book just seems like an accessory Spider-man book, with Jessica Jones in it. It's a good Spider-man book, with a Spidey-Green Goblin brawl, until Jessica gets involved. I'm not real sure of the reasons Jessica thought she had lost the baby, but I'm glad that she didn't. Luke Cage also got his licks in on GG as well. The Pulse also should have reprecussions on the rest of the Marvel Universe, since Osborn is now outed as the Green Goblin. The next issue is a crossover with Secret War so I guess I wont see a focus on Jessica Jones anytime soon." Jimmy King, DC Message Boards
(tied for 9th) Fallen Angel #15, 4 pts
"One thing I've never metioned in my reviews of Fallen Angel is the art in this book. David Lopez' pencils are some of the best I've seen. The splash page of Bete Noire with the star/pentagram going through the city is awesome. Peter David gives us some answer's, like an origin for Shadow Boxer, and some more mystery. The people who run Bete Noire want our Fallen Angel killed, but someone is trying to 'save' her. Whether that is Juris, Slate, or an unknown remains to be revealed. I was considering dropping this book but FA has been on a definate upswing in the last couple of months." Jimmy King, DC Message Boards
(tied for 9th) Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #183, 4 pts
"I really Walker's pencils & Nixey's coloring in this book. It's from the facial expressions to the different shades of purple used with Spoiler's cape & the rest of her costume, & the color of the sky with the Spoiler/Catwoman encounter. It's been nice seeing the how Spoiler & Catwoman relate to each other too. I also am glad that Steph is Spoiler again & not Robin. It didn't last long at all, but it was only fun momentarily anyway. Also, I really never knew what had happened to Commissioner Gordon, but it was good to see him this issue too." garthling, DC Message Boards
