1.
Y, The Last Man #26, 13 pts
A spotlight on Yorick's sister, Hero. A big change of focus, considering the recent events of the series, but needed to give more depth to the series.
2.
The Avengers #501, 12 pts

A very well-written and engaging story. The team has a very realistic struggle to understand what happened to them, but part of it still seems to be happening.
3.
Birds of Prey #73, 11 pts
Largely predictable, weakly contrived in some areas, but last week's cliffhanger would have been difficult to manage under the best of circumstances. Too bad that this is probably the last we will see of Vixen for a while.
4.
The Monolith #8, 10 pts
"Jimmy P and Justin Gray do know how to write Batman and it shows. Smart dialogue written for the Dark Knight plays off well against DC's coolest clay hero. The 'Lith manages to outsmart the Great Detective and makes him look somewhat stupid; nice to see that done every once in a while. But the biggest treat is the dialogue written for the 2 female characters in this book; Alice and Tilt. Its got a wonderful Gilmore Girls feel to it, without it being sucky like a Bendis script or a hokey Kevin Smith monologue. Guest Penciller Tomm Coker does great justice to the book as Phil Winslade gets ready to fire all cylinders. Readers and posters... another book that needs more support. Its a fun read; alot better than most stuff out there." DubipR, DC Message Boards
5.
Ultimate Spider-Man #65, 9 pts
"Now that's more like it, Bendis. Granted, this is rehashing a lot of old Spidey storylines, but BMB and Bagley mixed them together well and really captured the story's emotions. That whole speech Peter gave Kong about Flash was chilling." IAmJoeQsLung, DC Message Boards
6.
Firestorm #5, 8 pts
A major improvement over recent issues, with finally some progression of Jason's character. Too bad that he seems to be exhibiting weakness of character in many cases. The "Killer Frost" replacement (actually a returning villain from this series) did not get much character development, but her powers were better described. Characterization of the JLA members and the latest half of Firestorm was very good.
7.
Detective Comics #798, 7 pts
"Again, I dont think that my review of 'Tec will be fair, as I'm not reading all of War Games. Gabrych did a decent job of filling in the details for me, but I'm still not real interested. Woods' art sufffers a little here, as this issue takes place mostly in the daytime (unusual for a Bat-book). Woods' style is definately suited to a darker look." Jimmy King, DC Message Boards
(tied for 8th) Spider-Girl #78, 6 pts
"The Black Tarantula storyline FINALLY ends, and not a moment too soon. I did think that BT surrendering in the end was kind of a cop-out, even though his reasons might have ramifications in the future. Good to see May back in the red and blue, lets hope it stays that way for a while." Jimmy King, DC Message Boards
(tied for 8th) Majestic #2, 6 pts
The flashbacks were boring, but the present-day scenes were good. Definitely a major step down in quality from the previous issue.
(tied for 8th) Street Angel #3, 6 pts
