These rankings are compiled from the top 3 vote-getters of 16 different voters on the Internet for comics released on September 29th, 2004.

1. DC: The New Frontier #6, 16 pts
It's nice to see one of these all-spanning issues where Superman or Batman doesn't save the day. All-around, a very good ending to a very good series. It's one of the best attempts to actually bring the entire DCU together into a comprehensible whole. The characterization was the best part, as expected.

2. The Losers #16, 15 pts
"Well there was one gem. Losers is back on track with a new storyline explaining the backstory on the group and how they got betrayed by their government. Max comes across as being a heavy-hitter because we know how far his influence extends. If this had been the first issue of the series, the character wouldn't have had much impact. The return of Jock on art is VERY good news. This was a good start to what I hope turns out to be an arc that is even better than issues #1-6." Mister Miracle, DC Message Boards

3. Adam Strange #1, 12 pts
A decent story, with some real action. This is the best chance that Adam has had for a while. The atmosphere and dialogue are good. The plot has holes you could park a 18-wheeler in, but the action partially makes up for that.

4. Superman/Batman #12, 8 pts
A good story that does resolve something, but the cliffhanger at the end seemed very strange and almost anticlimactic. There were a few sloppy details in the plot that detracted from the power of the story, but the high ambition of the story made up for that in part.

(tied for 5th) Superman #209, 6 pts
"I'm not as bored with Azzarello's pacing as some people. I'm in the story for the long haul. But halfway through this epic arc, I feel like I'm treading water. I'm sure that the story would have benefitted from some judicious editing. It would probably be a better story over six issues rather than 12." Altamont, DC Message Boards

(tied for 5th) Scandalous (gn, 6 pts
"J. Torres is one of the best writers out there. Its a shame, practically everything he writes is nothing short of brilliant or fun as can be. From his delightful sripts on Teen Titans Go! to his insightful and biographical comic, The Copybook Tales, Torres writes with such love and care on whatever subject he touches. Here, Torres re-teams with his partner Scott Chantler, which the 2 of did DAYS LIKE THIS, a 60s piece looking into the world of female singer groups, ala the Supremes, The Ronettes, and the Shirelles. Torres and Chantler go back into the dark days of Hollywood and the publicity machines they churn out. Researched wonderfully about gossip rags and thier writers and critics, Chantler takes Torres' words and draws some of the best and most beautiful pages put out this year. As a native Angelino, I've read several books on said subject and this one is up there with Hollywood Babylon as thought provoking and entertaining. Its a brilliant piece of OGN that is a must read for 04." DubipR, DC Message Boards

(tied for 7th) Catwoman: When in Rome #1, 5 pts
"What is it about Loeb and Sale together that is usually magical? Selina's dream, the banter with Riddler, he flirtatious manner with the blond Sicilian, utter fun. Can't wait to see where the next issue goes." darklaw14, DC Message Boards

(tied for 7th) Amazing Spider-Man #512, 5 pts
"Please let this storyline resolve itself in some other way by the end. I know JMS is a much better writer than this. I would have reather seen some clones in this story than see who the father of Gwen's kids are. Why don't you have someone pee on her grave while your at it? ugh. Deodato's art was nice though." Jimmy King, DC Message Boards

9. Wonder Woman #208, 4 pts
"Get back inside, we're fighting! (10 points to anyone who gets that reference) It's good to see Rucka's run on WW have some good old-fashioned Wonder-brawling, even if it was reserved for the last few pages. Drew Johnson's art continues to improve, although Diana's tiara looked a little off in places, and Steve Trevor looked 25." Jimmy King, DC Message Boards

(tied for 10th) Invincible #16, 3 pts
"Kirkman throws in a couple of more fun twists and one very nice tease that a major character may not be gone from the book. Ottly's art continues to improve month by month." Krypton King, DC Message Boards

(tied for 10th) Imadoki! vol.1: Dandelion, Green Lantern #181, 3 pts

13. Captain Canuck: Unholy War #1, Runaways #18, Waterwise (gn), Luba's Comics & Stories #7, Daredevil #65, 2 pts

18. JLA #106, John Constantine: Hellblazer #200, X-Men #162, Chrono Crusade Act 2 Part 1, Metal Hurlant #13, 1 pt
