The Adventures of Nikki Harris the Cybermation Witch 2.0 #2 cover

Nikki Harris, the Cybermation Witch, is back, but she can’t get a moment’s rest, because an old enemy has also returned.  It’s been almost three years since the last comic book, but The Adventures of Nikki Harris the Cybermation Witch 2.0 #2 (entitled “It’s My Party!”) is available for readers.

Deep inside Old Europe, Lady Opulent Red plots and schemes.  She sends Nikki an insistent invitation to a mysterious soiree at the Castle Opulent, her palace estate in the Carpathian Mountains.  The announcement of the party seems rather sudden to Nikki, but it’s a party.  So, Nikki is soon on a spaceways flight to the trillionairess’ estate in Old Europe.  As she arrives, Nikki senses dark magic and wonders what’s up with the rest of the party guests.  Then, the hostess makes her grand entrance and all hell breaks loose.

In spite of its digitally produced artwork, The Adventures of Nikki Harris is a throwback comic book.  It is a self-contained, fight comics full of weird scenarios and kooky characters… and it leaves you wanting more.  The fight scenes are reminiscent of the Steve Ditko Doctor Strange stories from Strange Tales.  This issue’s story, “It’s My Party!” even references the Jonathan Harker/Count Dracula meeting which occurs early in Dracula (in the novel and the film adaptations).

All in all, The Adventures of Nikki Harris the Cybermation Witch 2.0 #2 is a fun comic.  I’d also like to see this title reach a regular publishing schedule.
