Another week passed, another weeks worth of news passed on. It's the little things that keep us going each week, but it's the big things that people really want to know. We make sure to do our best to bring the latest, and greatest, news we can, and at the end of the week, it may be hard, but we're still going for gold.

Wii.com now fully viewable


Anybody who went to Wii.com the day it launched probably noticed that two of the videos were not viewable. That has now changed, and now anybody and everybody can check out the new videos which highlight the Photo Channel and the Internet Channel. While other, larger, websites have been broadcasting the video demonstration of the Photo Channel from the Sept. 14th event, the new video goes more in-depth into the features of the Channel and also shows just how fast it runs. The video of the Internet Channel shows just how it works, and much of the ease of use, though we still haven't seen how users type yet. If you're worried about not being able to see the text or pictures from websites on a regular size TV, don't be. Like the Photo Channel, the Internet Channel is also able to zoom in and out, so everything will be clear. It also supports Flash files, including Flash movies. Go check out the videos and see for yourself.

Speaking of the Internet Channel, Nintendo has confirmed that it will be allowing free downloads of the Opera Web Browser for Wii until June of 2007, “free of charge as a temporary promotion”. After that time, the browser will be available for purchase with Wii Points, though Nintendo has not yet confirmed the number of points necessary for the purchase.

Another one bites the dust


First it was Alienware, now it's VoodooPC. HP announced yesterday that it has signed an agreement to acquire VoodooPC, a large, Canadian gaming PC manufacturer. Much like Dell, HP plans to use the Voodoo brand to make a name for itself in the gaming market. The brand name will remain the same, the only difference will be the owners. The founders/co-owners of VoodooPC, brothers Rahul and Ravi Sood, will become the chief technologist (Rahul) and director of strategy (Ravi) for the new gaming branch of HP.

If HP can manage to keep the Voodoo brand at the high level of quality it is known for, we can probably expect to see the unit grow by a considerable margin. "Our passion at VoodooPC has been to design the highest performance, personalized PCs for our customers' entertainment," said Rahul Sood. “Customers should continue to expect the highest level of personalized configurations, service and quality.” If that isn't the case, we may see things go in the wrong direction for the company. The deal is still not done yet, though, as it is still subject to regular closing conditions, but it is set to be completed by November. The terms of the deal, however, were not disclosed. In any case, for the work of such high standards and quality done to this point, to the Sood brothers and VoodooPC, we salute you.
