Dynamite Entertainment announced that they extended their agreement with MGM Entertainment with the Army of Darkness.

The exclusive licensing agreement will allow the publisher to continue the ongoing Army of Darkness comic book series, trade paperback collections as well as specials and one-shots for years to come.

“We’ve got some great, great stories coming up and we’re very pleased that we were able to secure more time with Ash and the Army of Darkness to bring it all out for the legions of fans,” commented Dynamite Spokesperson J. Allen. “The really exciting news is that we’re also going to be able to release the remastered John Bolton adaptation of the movie and fans should look for more info on that in the weeks to come.”

Dynamite currently produces an ongoing Army of Darkness comic book series, along with collections, mini-series and one-shots. A major cross-over with the Classic Monsters is available for order now and the story kicks in with issue #8! In the works for ’06 will begin the countdown for Ash’s 13th Anniversary, which will start off with issue #13, and features Ash against his deadliest foe! Also on tap to finally be released is the aforementioned release of the Bolton painted adaptation.
