Spain--Some call him "influential," some a "legend," and some just call him Golden...but whatever the noun, adjective or moniker, one thing is for sure: Michael Golden has produced a body of work that is varied, unique, and always, always trendsetting.

In celebration of the comic creator who strives to puts the mark a little higher with each new creation, the Barcelona Comic Con is honoring Michael as a spotlighted comic guest at their 2008 show, April 18-20, and is mounting a major exhibition of original Michael Golden artwork never before put on display.

Some of the pieces in the exhibition include: Pages from "The 'Nam" tradepaperback; Sabertooth Special; Wildstorm Archive; Doctor Strange/Ghost Rider Special; Generation X; Mutant X; Zorro;  Body Bags; Spartan X; Punisher Armory; Punisher; Spawn; G.I. Joe; Hulk vs. Fantastic Four; Jurassic Park; Mircronauts; Crystar....and numerous others--most from Golden's own private collection!

This marks Golden's section exhibition in Spain, the first being in Gijon at that city's renowned festival in October of 2007.

Needless to say with Michael's limited return to the convention circuit, has also brought a great deal of interest in his artistic legacy, noted by numerous new books and DVD's on the artist, including:
"Excess: The Art of Michael Golden," from Vanguard Productions, which has sold out and is going into a second printing with a new Vampirella cover; "Modern Masters Vol.12--Michael Golden" tradepaperback from TwoMorrows Publishing; "Modern Masters in the Studio with Michael Golden DVD";  the upcoming two disc set "Creator Chronicles: Michael Golden" from Woodcrest Productions and Eva Ink; as well as the upcoming sketchbook "Michael Golden Heroes & Villains" from BrandStudios and Eva Ink.  You can also see new Michael Golden covers on "Exiles," "Demon's Regret," "Wolverine," and more!

It's no wonder that the Barcelona Comic Con is taping Golden for an appearance at this years show as well. Michael will be on hand all days of the BCC along with other comics and media luminaries: Adam Hughes, Denis Kitchen, Milo Manara, Moebius, Peter Bagge, Ray Harryhausen, Terry Moore, Tim Sale,  and Tony Harris, among others.
