In "Hellboy Animated: Sword Of Storms," which was just released on DVD, folklore professor Dr. Broom opens a forbidden scroll and becomes possessed by the ancient Japanese demons of Thunder and Lightning, who seek to return and dominate our world. The doctor's Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense sends Hellboy and a team of agents to investigate, but when Hellboy picks up a samurai sword, he literally disappears into a weird wonderland of Japanese legends, ghosts and monsters. Meanwhile, BPRD agents Kate Corrigan and Russel Thorn are on the trail of the possessed professor to bring Hellboy back in "Sword of Storms," a Starz Media production in association with Revolution Studios. It was released on DVD in North America February 6, 2007 by Starz Home Entertainment.

The 72-card base set features Hellboy and the unlikely family of agents as they tackle the most dangerous missions for Dr. Broom's BPRD.  Collectors can also find several levels of randomly inserted bonus cards including:

- SKETCH CARDS - Individually hand-drawn sketch cards by 19 different artists, including Mike Mignola, creator of "Hellboy"; Sean "Cheeks" Galloway, Character Concept Designer; and Greg Guler, Character Designer.  Images of all 4,628 different sketch cards that were created for this set can be seen on the Inkworks web site - www.inkworks.com (Sketch cards inserted approximately 1 in every 36 packs).

- "DEMONS UNLEASHED"  - A nine-card foil puzzle that shows the demons that Hellboy encounters on his journey (nine different cards inserted approximately 1 in every 11 packs).

- "HERO'S JOURNEY" - Six die-cut foil cards (6 different cards inserted approximately 1for every 17 packs).

- BOX LOADERS (3 different cards - 1 per box) and CASE LOADER (1 card - 1 per case)

The premium trading cards are now available in trading card outlets, comic book stores and from web retailers.  "Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms" premium trading cards are packed six cards per pack, 36 packs per display box, 10 boxes per case.  Packs have a suggested retail price of $2.49.  In addition to the cards, Inkworks has also created a collector binder for the set (suggested retail price - $19.95) and a limited edition mini-press sheet of the "Demons Unleashed" puzzle.  Only 99 copies of this puzzle were left uncut and are available for a suggested retail price of $69.95 for each sequentially numbered sheet.

"Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms" debuted on Cartoon Network last October. Phil Weinstein and Tad Stones directed the movie. Guillermo del Toro, who directed the original 2004 theatrical feature, and Mike Mignola, who created the Hellboy character, were creative producers. It was produced by Starz Media's production studio, Film Roman.
