Twin Star Exorcists Graphic Novel Volume 11

Rated “T” for “Teen”

Rokuro Enmado certainly did not want to be an exorcist, but then, he met a mysterious girl named Benio Adashino.  This 14-year-old was serious about being an exorcist, and she wanted to fight the monstrous creatures called Kegare.  Because their destinies are intertwined, Rokuro and Benio are called the “Twin Star Exorcists.”  They are fated to marry... and to conceive the “Prophesied Child.”

With the help of his shikigami, Rokuro has established his own family – a family of one.  As Twin Star Exorcists, Vol. 11 (Chapters 38 to 40) opens, Rokuro is trying to recruit members.  He will need a family if he is to compete in “The Hadare Castle Imperial Tournament.”  How about “Alice,” a boy with a vexing connection to someone who annoys Rokuro?  Meanwhile, Benio is in Magano, trying to regain her powers, which leads to a reunion with the Kegare, Kamui.

[This volume includes the bonus story, “Twin Stars' Excursion.”]

THE LOWDOWN:  The Twin Star Exorcists manga seems to be in a constant state of flux.  The narrative introduces new characters and new subplots at a steady rate, but the other reason for this state of change is that the leads, Rokuro and Benio, are currently separated.

Twin Star Exorcists Graphic Novel Volume 11 finds both characters trying to improve their abilities – for different reasons.  I wish that creator Yoshiaki Sukeno had offered more about Benio this volume, but we certainly get a look at the obstacles ahead for her.  Twin Star Exorcists continues to be a manga worth reading, especially if you have read it before.  There is always something big ahead.

I READS YOU RECOMMENDS:  Fans of action-fantasy, shonen manga will want to try the “Shonen Jump” manga, Twin Star Exorcists.
