Rated “T” for “Teen”

45 years ago, super-powered humans, known as NEXT, began appearing.  Some of them fight crime as superheroes in Stern Bild (a re-imagined version of New York City).  They promote their corporate sponsors while appearing on the hit television series, Hero TV.  Veteran superhero, Kotetsu T. Kaburagi (Wild Tiger), teams up with the newest NEXT sensation, Barnaby Brooks, Jr., the “Super Rookie” whom Tiger calls “Bunny.”  They fight crime because not all NEXT use their powers for good.

As Tiger & Bunny, Vol. 9 (Chapters 35 to 38) opens, combat exosuits move into position at the public gathering place, Street Vision.  Their targets are the anti-NEXT protesters.  Meanwhile, Wild Tiger and Barnaby make their move against the powerful, NEXT villain, Jake Martinez, who controls the exosuits.  Barnaby is determined to put an end to Martinez's long reign of terror, but Wild Tiger fears that his young partner may try to kill Martinez in an act of revenge

THE LOWDOWN:  With a fan boy-heavy heart, I am sad to announce that Tiger & Bunny Volume 9 is the final volume of this graphic novel series.  I have previously written, often, that one of my favorite superhero comics is actually the Tiger & Bunny manga.  I still believe that Tiger & Bunny is better than most superhero comic book series currently being published by DC Comics and by Marvel.

At only nine volumes, it is an easy and affordable pick-up.  Tiger & Bunny has all the superhero action, character drama, and humor that comic book fans can find in their latest Marvel Studios hit superhero movie, with some thrill rides thrown into the mix.  One thing is for sure, like many superhero comic books, Tiger & Bunny is tailored made to be the story of a never-ending battle.  Thus, I hope that this excellent superhero manga/graphic novel/comic will one day return.

I READS YOU RECOMMENDS:  Readers looking for an excellent superhero action-comedy will find it in Tiger & Bunny.
