Yes, the summer is suppose to suck for gaming.

If you've happened to notice over the last month or so, that their hasn't been many games coming out, let alone very good ones, don't worry, it's suppose to be that way, and you can expect it to be that way for at least another 2, maybe 3 months.

Why don't game companies release quality games in the summer? You'd have better luck asking Miss Cleo then me, cause I don't know. It doesn't seem like a bad idea to release top titles in a time period where kid's have lots of free time, chalk it up to tradition and the unwillingness of companies to take a risk at trying something new.

So what are we suppose to do?

The way I see it, you have 3 options.

1. Play some old games - Head over to EB Games (or wherever) and play something you've missed. Nobody can play everything that comes out, and unless your me and catalog every decent game that's released, chances are you'll find a buried treasure (even I do every once in a while).

2. Feed on the scraps - While it's true that their aren't going to be many games comming out that will blow your head off, their are still going to be a few worth playing. Of notable mention at this moment are, New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo DS and Table Tennis for the Xbox360.

3. Just take a break - That's what I'm doing, in fact, that's what I usually do this time of year, just ride it out until Sept/Oct, in the meantime explore new things and save up that ca$hflow. By the time the good stuff starts coming around, you'll be recharged and ready to go. I'd still recommend keeping up with the new releases and news, as of course, i'll still be reporting that here at the bin, even if it is just table scraps.

So their you go, it's nothing out of the ordinary that this time of the year is slow, it sucks, but that's just the way it is and will be for the foreseeable future, or at least until someone tries releasing a AAA title in June, July or August and we see if the numbers are where they should be, until then though, you're going to have to search for your fun.
