He could not gain admission into any other high school, so 15-year-old Tsukune Aono ended up at Yokai Academy, a boarding school for monsters.  The first friend Tsukune made was Moka Akashiya, a teen vampire who just loves the taste of his blood.  Moka can also transform into a powerful vampire (called “Inner Moka”) when her Rosario is removed.  Tsukune joins the News Club (the club that produces Yokai’s school newspaper).  During his freshman year, he survived monster gangs and a gaggle of would-be girlfriends, and now, he’s a sophomore.

Rosario+Vampire: Season II, Vol. 6 (entitled Love Bites) introduces Fangfang Huang the Mafia Boy.  He is looking for a few good men to join his crime family and because of his recent exploits, Tsukune has earned Fangfang’s attention.  The young mobster wants Tsukune to return to China with him and join the Huang crime family.  When Tsukune’s many female suitors object, Fangfang offers to take them along as Tsukune’s harem!

Later, Fangfang’s sister, Lingling Huang, decides to help her brother win over Tsukune.  Also, Moka lets Inner Moka out to spend a day at school with Tsukune… with mixed results.

THE LOWDOWN:  This is one of those volumes of Rosario+Vampire: Season II that is rich in comedy, especially bawdy comedy.  Readers will find plenty of innuendo, T&A, fanservice, and even some sweet-natured vulgarity.  Creator Akihisa Ikeda never crosses the line into the profane, and his art, with its precision drawing and pretty compositions, is perfect to depict this polished romp.

POSSIBLE AUDIENCE:  Readers looking for fanservice and monster comedy will like Rosario+Vampire: Season II.
