We’ve seen the future, well Morrison’s version of it anyway. Most of the X-Men we know are dead, all except Wolverine. Sublime has taken over most of the world. And it’s all a twisted messed. The funny thing is, that describes this book perfectly. Some see Morrison as being out there, willing to tell fun stories from the edge, but I just found this convoluted and boring. With names such as Smith: The Maker, Megamerica, Panafrikan Basin, etc, it just seemed lazy and unimaginative. And the conversation between Tom and E.V.A was sluggish and unconvincing.

Silvestri’s work seems strange to me. There seems to be scratchiness to his work that is very distracting. On virtually every panel there were loads of scratchy lines, which just didn’t seem to have a place or need to be there. If it wasn’t for this I’d really be able to enjoy his work more. The best panel has to be the centre Wolverine splash. And there’s also a shot of the four main characters walking towards us, which is a great shot.
