The team has gathered and the true villain is revealed. But is this new band of Avengers up to the challenge!?!

For the last four months, this book has been fire, but I have to say, I felt real disappointed after reading this issue. The snap seems to of gone and been replaced with inane dribble. OK, that is kinda harsh, but in comparison with what’s come before, this doesn’t really hold up. We know who the prison break was for and this issue did nothing to evolve upon that. The ending was promising though and it will be interesting to see what this Spider-woman’s (you’ll see what I mean) motives are.

The art was OK, Finch handles most things well all issue. At points Wolverine may seem a little elongated and Starks Iron Man armour seems bulkier without him in it (what’s up with that), but these are just small omissions. The real standout pages though, are at the end of the issue. There’s a nice Avengers Assemble page and one of Karl Lykos’ transformation.

Report Card - C

Koncise an out :)
