Some stories can't be contained in just one medium, and the saga of BlackLight: Tango Down, the highly-anticipated FPS for XBLA, PSN and PC from Ignition Entertainment is one of them.  With a future world-war setting, conflicting guerilla military units, Hyper-Reality Visors and a growing population of virus-ridden civilians, BlackLight: Tango Down will make its way from video game systems to the pulps this July. Ignition Entertainment and Storm Lion have announced a single shot comic book based on the upcoming multiplayer-focused first-person-shooter Blacklight: Tango Down, currently in development at Zombie Studios.

The project is a result of a collaborative process between BlackLight: Tango Down's distributor, Ignition Entertainment, the game's developer Zombie Studios, and Storm Lion Publishing. Created by Zombie Studios co-CEO and style driver Mark Long, BlackLight: Tango Down is written by Jared Gerritzen, Ian Stephens and Cullen Galagher with story by Jason Dean Hall and Eric Lieb, and art direction by Storm Lion's Zid.

The comic book follows an elite covert ops team as they fight off crazed civilians while trying to rescue an officer from behind enemy lines. The plot ties to the upcoming game while expanding on the lore with a completely separate story line. The comic book will be a pit stop on the non-traditional road the BlackLight franchise is paving, including the summer's hottest first person shooter and a feature film currently in development.
