Beginning a wild epic of piracy and plunder! CrossGen wants a new major hero - and you can meet her in a savage tale of the days when cannons roared, cutlasses clashed, and the seas were stained blood red!

I was enthralled by the first issue and was looking forward to my journey on El Cazador. After this issue though, I'm somewhat perplexed. The whole story made complete sense and I thought Dixon moved it along at a good pace. The problems I had with it though, was I felt the constant change of language to French or Spanish (I know it's a historical book) kind of disrupted the books flow and just all in all, this felt like a flat issue that didn't draw you to pick up issue #3!

The art is, at this moment, the main draw of the book! Epting really is excelling himself with his enthralling renditions of life on the high seas! The colouring is a perfect match for Epting's pencils. It is especially effective with bringing to life the dark and grimy existence of life on a pirate ship!
