Upon first glance, I was predisposed to not liking DUB TRUB (www.candlelightpress.com), part one in an apparent graphic novel series because, on the surface, it's computer-rendered, photo-realistic art looked so peculiar. However, by the time I was finished reading it, I wanted more. With two buxom female leads, it could have been a dull T&A comic, but it was instead a fun, cartoony, SF comic.

Dub Trub is the story of Special Agent Red & Special Agent Black, two enhanced, super soldiers who lead the fight against an extraterrestrial horde invading earth. Red & Black are double trouble when it comes to kicking reptilian butt, and not only are they the last line of defense for humanity, they may also be the last superheroes.

I liked the pacing of the story. Allen doesn't clutter up the inspired goofiness with maudlin drama and pretentious high tech or cutting edge science. The story bounces off the wall careening from one scene to the next, in a spirit of the fun similar to Silver Age space fantasy comics.
[DRECK, DULL, READABLE, PRETTY GOOD, EXCELLENT]
