Terik Ryder DVD Comic Book

Terik Rider Productions, based near Montreal, Canada, is about to release Terik Ryder, a new DVD comic book by writer and animator, Philippe Davèze and illustrator, writer, Jean-Michel Rossignol.
A human colony of about 20 million people has been living for many years on a small planet resembling the Earth. Offering numerous natural resources this planet was an ideal place to rebuild a society.

But, one day, out of a temporal breech, thousands of meteorites appeared in the sky. The evacuation of the planet started immediately. Space battleships equipped with nuclear weapons took off to bring down the largest meteorites. But the time is too short and disaster is inevitable. Large evacuation vessels, genuine Noah’s Arks, able to accommodate up to a million people plus livestock and plants took off.
The largest meteorite hit the planet surface causing an enormous explosion. The explosion reduced this beautiful planet to a lifeless piece of rock. Other evacuation vessels have been hit by the meteorites and are in trouble. Aboard the Heritage that escaped the meteorite shower without too much damage the bridge crew, completely helpless, watches the disaster. Damaged ships crash and explode on the planet surface. Other spaceships are destroyed in the sky by the shower of meteorites.
Separated from the other spaceships, the evacuation vessel Heritage moves away to safety. That’s when the size of the temporal breech increases and the Heritage is absorbed. The ship reappears in an unknown place and space-time. But the commander Rafaël Amanis and his million passengers will meet with other bad surprises. The breech brought them close to a black hole, this ‘thing’ that absorbs everything, and the ship is not spared.
The black hole sent the Heritage close to a burning hot planet. The ship is drawn towards the planet and the heat of the ‘sun’ starts melting the ship steel. The only way to escape is to dive into the ocean that can be seen on the topographic screens. The commander orders to push the motors.
The hull of the Heritage has almost reached the melting point and it’s getting ready to hit the ocean. As soon as the hull hits the sea, the melting steel freezes. The shock is terrible, thousands of people are hurt and hundreds are dead. The Heritage starts its descent into hell; it reaches the bottom and settles down. Rafaêl Amanis was killed during the crash. The ship is holding and becomes the new refuge of the survivors. But rising to the surface is impossible and, beside, the damages to the vessel are very serious.
To survive, the people have to resign themselves and accept to get organized in the new hostile world. The main concern is the energy supply, oxygen and water depending on it. Following a study of the ocean soil, an ore with incredible characteristics is discovered and used as an energy source. Named Outalium it will give its name to the first dome built.
Few decades later, a gigantic dome will be built to accommodate the growing population; normal life goes on. This dome will be named Amanis in tribute to Rafaêl Armanis, the commander who gave his life to save others.
Then came the building of Karagone, the agricultural territory, Ghuisphine, the industrial and commercial territory and Constalis, the amusement territory.
When Amanis was built, the supreme governing board established a new squad to respond to specific emergencies: accidents, natural catastrophies, terrorism, etc... The squad was named E.T.U. i.e. Emergency Tactical Unit. Its members came from the best police force and were given intensive and severe training. This squad has access to technology designed for their use only. But this requires a sacrifice; they will have to give up a normal life and devote their whole life to the protection of mankind. Their family and friends think they are dead and to keep anonymity, the members of the E.T.U. have got a plastic surgery.
Hundreds of year later, the new world has evolved. A busy society of
approximately 12 million people is now living under this ocean.
The domes were expanded; Outalium has now 3 additional domes on top of the main one.
The E.T.U. is more active than ever, following its heritage of centuries of accomplishment and often very difficult missions. Relying on this cultural heritage and a constantly growing state-of-the-art technology, the new members of the E.T.U., under the command of Terik Ryder continue the fight to preserve life.
