Revelations of Wonder Woman's origins split the Amazons.

   This is an introspective issue with little action but a lot of emotional confrontations. Wonder Woman realises her supposed origin, of being molded out of clay, was all a sham and she may actually be a daugher of Zeus, king of the Gods, making her a potential target of Hera, the jealous wife of Zeus.

   Those expecting to see a lot of action will be disappointed and those who did not read the previous issue will be confused but the emotions and motivations of the characters come across well and Wonder Woman's determination to do the right thing, despite the tensions it creates with her family, her people and her gods, makes her look more formidable without having to resort to her beating up some gigantic monster.

   The art still takes getting used too. While well-done, it is a bit simple and can be jarring for those used to the heavy pseudo-Greek art of previous incarnations of Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman's new costume also looks crude and unimpressive. That may be due to the design rather than the talents of the artist.
