Secret agent Diana Prince is ordered to bring in Wonder Woman, which creates a problem since she is Wonder Woman. This is a start of a new story-arc that also launches the "Amazons Attack" miniseries but the story is actually rather laid-back and humourous. Aside from some superheroics involving muggers and falling roller-coasters, the focus of this issue is Diana Prince and her difficulty in getting along in "man's world." She can't pump gas, can't use a credit card, can't even buy a cup of coffee. This may not be completely faithful to previous continuity, when Wonder Woman at least knew her way around a turnstile. But it does make her easier to sympathize with, compared to the all-knowing goddess that she had become in the previous run of this title. The creative team still isn't comfortable with superheroics and some of the human poses look a little too much like cheesecake but the art is attractive and easy to follow. It is disappointing to see that they are re-using the same big, bad guy again. But then perhaps that just shows how few strong villains Wonder Woman really has. Hopefully the story will pick up its pace in succeeding issues and the creative team, along with Diana, will start to fit in more. Three stars out of five.
