Two adventures featuring Wolverine are shown this issue before the title changes protagonist next issue.

Marvel Comics sure phoned in this issue. The conclusion to the first was muddled and difficult to understand. With everyone backstabbing everyone in Wolverine’s words, as opposed as on the actual page, it makes one wonder why they even bother to call this a comic book. Why not just write a novel about this story, if the visuals are not important and cannot inform the reader of what’s happening, until the last page. This clearly was not a good story. The writer and the artists failed to collaborate properly. I blame Daniel Way for this. He did not provide Edwards any material to work with and overpowered the story instead of letting Edwards participate equally.

As for the other short story where Spider-man and Wolverine share some time as best buddies, this was done recently in Amazing Spider-Man: Extra! #2 with more insight and skills. In fact, this story negates much of the good work done just last February in the above-mentioned comic book. Although I wrote at the time that it felt like something I had read several times over, it was more original and enjoyable than the filler that was phoned in this issue.

Edwards’ work takes some adjustment before one can enjoy it completely, but once accepted, it’s quite entertaining. Kubert’s story was acceptable, but not engaging. I’m not sure I like either his rendition of Spider-man or Wolverine. I much prefer his Batman.

Rating: 6/10
