We're Unusual

There's a lot of work ahead for the team at The Comic Book Bin and I'm so busy (as usual) that I can barely keep up. You'll notice that we have less press release news. I'm rethinking that for now and so we're cutting down on those for a while. The intent is to focus on stuff we can really cover and call that news. Which means yous should still send us your press releases, but we,ll pick what,s relevant and do a real story out of it instead of just copy and pasting a press release. As readers, we know you prefer real news to press releases so enough corner cutting.

I've also sent out a call to innovative comic book creators that have something to say and that we should talk about here. There are tons of crazy stuff happening and most of the time, no one is there to witness it and cover it decently. The Bin was always that one site where anything goes - still is. It's funny because for a while people thought we were all focused on super hero, then on "alternative stuff" and then on licensed stuff and properties, then on manga.

Doesn't matter to us. I it's comics, we cover it. That's it. It's always funny to see the resistance people have to a comic book site where there is real freedom. If you follow the type of articles I write, you'll see that as the publisher of the site, I'm all over the place. I'll review Archie Comics tomorrow, Spider-man but also cover a very peculiar issue to do with religion and comics - so narrow that few would even bother writing about it. That's the Bin. I own the site and I always gave it that flexibility and to the writers to do there things.

Some focus on some types of comics. That's ok. I personally am all over the place. I like it all. I just love comics. That gets me in trouble a lot though but the hell do I care. The Bin is the only place that's really free and we are not beholden to any advertiser or interests, or buddies in the industry. These days, I'm hardly in contact with anyone in the comic book industry - way too busy for that. But the Bin is still that haven where any type of comic book can get a spotlight by really intelligent people.

If you're not familiar with us, why not hang out a while and search some of our past articles. There is crazy and good stuff here.

cheers
