Spike Witwicky is back and organizes humans to fight the Decepticons’ control of New York City, before other states decide to nuke it to destroy the giant robots. Elsewhere, the Autobots are still discouraged and don’t know where they should go and how to focus. Sideswipe who’s brother Sunstreaker apparently died last issue, is about to abandon all, when Optimus Prime returns. Is this the real leader of the Autobots?

Having missed one issue, a few things didn’t make sense to me. I’d like to know what happened to Sunstreaker, for example. This issue, not much happened. Humans led by Spike beat Rumble badly. That sequence was the only one where something happened this issue. Although previous issues in this mini-series were quite interesting, not moving forward here, bored this reader a lot.

I did not like the work of the artist working on the human scenes. His characters seem too simplistic and his style jarred with the more complex Transformers’ look used elsewhere. The other artist fared much better with the Autobots and continued to give them updated but cartoon-inspired renderings.
