Sometimes I ask myself if writers approaching ComicBookBin do so in order to land “better” and more prestigious gigs elsewhere. That would certainly be the case of film and DVD reviewer Tony Farinella who started in late August 2006 and reviewed at ComicBookBin for about a year until he left for other entertainment Websites to do practically the exact same kind of work. He still reviews films to this day! Of course, I’ve got nothing against people coming and going by now. It’s part of the ecosystem of a site like ComicBookBin. I never did, however, had a chance to really touch base with Tony and again, that’s part of my leadership issues about not always inspiring men and women when it counts. Some writers need far more attention than I traditionally provide.

At ComicBookBin, writers have a lot of freedom and sometimes, perhaps they have too much of that. Although I have strict sets of standards, content-wise, I don’t often tell writers what to write next. I usually do it on my own! In the case of Tony, I have no idea why he left for the other site, and that’s part of the problem. Tony was around for a whole year and I never really connected! I wish that Tony is happier where he is now and that he’s got a more understanding editor working with him.

Who's Who @ComicBookBin is a feature celebrating the 10th anniversary of ComicBookBin where publisher Hervé St-Louis features writers past and present that have contributed to ComicBookBin over the years.
