Thor decides to built Asgard, or more precisely, bring it back to existence by sheer force of will. But the small Oklahoma town is easily disturbed by the thunderstorm. Thor doesn’t give up. He wants his people, the inhabitants of Asgard to be back. And if it means buying the land where Asgard hovers, then so be it!

This is another quiet issue where Straczynski is rebuilding Thor, taking his time doing it. Having read other series, like Supreme Power, also written by Straczynski, I understand that he uses each issue to introduce a new theme. I enjoyed the story very much and the subtle humour with the town’s natives. All of their comments and Thor’s reactions to them were simple, but sweet.

This new Thor has something on his mind and gone is the boisterous Viking. Instead, Thor is quiet and pragmatic. This is a Thor I enjoy. I do have some worries about the obvious story padding by Straczynski. The story stretches perhaps too long.

Another question or worry is the issue of Loki. Will Thor revive him as well as some of his other opponents like The Enchantress?

Coipel exhibits hidden skills. He’s a great illustrator of regular folks, old, fat and unsophisticated. He excels in quiet scenes too, showing all the emotion that Straczynski asks him to draw. It’s excellent. I have some issues with the page layouts, as Coipel often inserts panels in odd places.
