The Sentry has died in Siege and this is the funeral for the fallen hero. Many Marvel Comics characters reminisce about the Sentry and what he meant for them. Will Ben Grimm the Thing, finally put his grudge for the deceased hero away?

Considering the Sentry was implant who never really existed prior to his introduction a few years ago, this tear jerker inducing comic book is a wreck and unnecessary.  My local retailer put it in my drop box as he knows I might find such things interesting and it’s the only reason I have this useless book on my shelf now. The Sentry was a bad Superman clone with an angle that never quite fitted. He was much more interesting as the main villain in Siege than he had ever been. Still this issue explains very little about the Sentry and what he did in Siege. What exactly is the Sentry? It seems that we’ll never know and that’s the only thing I find interesting about the character at this point. Now I know he’ll comeback sooner rather than later and I find that annoying that a whole book is dedicated to a character that will return from the dead soon.

The issue does what’s it’s supposed to do. It offers readers many viewpoints on a troubled character that was an enigma for many. Ok scratch that. The issue should have been about offering readers many viewpoints on a troubled character. What we got here was all positive viewpoints and nothing about the crazy lunatic that resuscitated his wife and locked her in a cell in tower. The only explanation for this book was that Jenkins was trying to salvage the character he had created and that was changed by Brian Bendis in the New Avengers. There are hints that we’ll see more of the Sentry but that’s left opened ended.
