Superman is in handcuffs and being lead by some heavily armed soldiers towards a fate unknown in the latest movie poster promoting the new film due on June 14th,  2013. Continuing with the dark and moody tone that this new imagining of Superman seems to be drenched in, this poster made me worry a bit that maybe the film is going too dark. After going back and watching the awesome trailer again though, my fears were dispelled. Yes, this Superman film is looking like it is going to be a bit darker, much less campy (thankfully) and much more realistic than the previous films, but the chill inducing wonder and uplifting tone of the trailer is unmistakable. Even though the script was written by David S. Goyer, which was adapted from the story by Goyer and Christopher Nolan, I don't expect Man of Steel to be The Dark Knight, but a little of that awesome Nolan/Goyer realism will definitely give the Superman franchise the shot in the arm that it needs. Let's just hope that Goyer and Nolan stayed away from The New 52 Superman stories though, those aren't dark or realistic as much as they are sloppy and poorly connected. Like with the Man of Steel trailer, this new Man of Steel poster doesn't disappoint. Let's hope the rumored new Man of Steel trailer that is supposed to be attached to The Hobbit takes this whole thing up another notch!
