Kraven the Hunter’s family continues to hunt avatars of the Spyder and ultimately Spider-man in order to revive the family’s patriarch. Former Avenger, Julia Carpenter has already been kidnapped, and the hunters are now going after Spider-girl. Who else will be sacrificed in this game of cat and mouse? Can Spider-man survive this one?

This was a great issue that included a lot of trickery and more poor luck for Spider-man. He really doesn’t get a break, does he? The old Spider-man character Ezekiel is back and his existence is known by the hunters. I wonder how they ever found out about him. I’m hoping for a trick or something for next issue that would show that Peter Parker did not receive the amount of damage he did this issue. It was gruesome but edgy.  I like how this story is shaping up and for once I have no idea where the writer is going with this. That’s rare these days and a welcome change in a series that’s an institution. The only drawback is Kaine. I’m tired of seeing him stick around and wish they would get rid of him soon.

Speaking of Kaine, he looked very different this issue. The artist drew him with shorter hair and made him almost a clone look alike of Peter Parker. He tends to look very different with the long hair. I like the work of Lark and Gaudiano here. It fits the story well. They are also remarkable storytellers guiding the reader through a web of action seamlessly.
