The Avengers are on Mars to find out what happened to Nova. Their investigation leads them to find survivors of the Martian mining company that quickly attack them. But as the Avengers split to search for their enemies, Nova returns with new powers and a quest to destroy his allies. Will he succeed?

I liked this issue although it may be the last one I buy. It’s hard to justify all these Avengers series popping out. I thought the X-Men were bad with all the different teams and series. The Avengers have literally left them in the dust. I’m not inspired by the team. I don’t care about Valkyrie. Most of the others, like War Machine, Steve Rogers, Ant-man, Moonknight and the Black Widow can be found in other series. There is not much that is original to make this series stand out, although it is not bad by any means. The story was interesting, but I fail to see what is so different with these undercover Avengers.

Deodato is even better here than in Dark Avengers. His growth is phenomenal. The story is detailed and the characters look unique. He creates cool suits just for the Mars landing and I like how he draws technology and ships. Although I’ll drop this series because I can’t buy all that Marvel Comics publishes, it’s still a good read.
