Secrets surrounding China's Wonder Woman begin to slowly be revealed, and a new threat rises to face China, forcing Dr. Omen to take drastic action.

Writer Gene Luen Yang continues to develop not only Super-Man/Kong Kenan;s character, but his entire supporting cast's, by revealing some of the backstory behind China's Wonder Woman/Deilan's, origins. I'm not sure how closely what Yang has come up with to define Deilan's origins is aligned with actual Chinese mythology (or inspired by it), but it's at least as interesting as the western Wonder Woman's origins. Both characters have an origin based in their culture's mythology, and Deilan's is definitely worth reading more about. The appearance of another potential threat, and potential rival to Kenan, is also of high interest, and makes me really interested in the next issue.

Billy Tan handles the artistic duties on New Super-Man #11. I am not sure if he is replacing Viktor Bogdanovic permanently or not (Tan has filled in on New Super-Man before), but he is a more than adequate artist to handle Kenan's adventures. While his version of Super-Man/Kenan isn't as definitive as Bogdanvic's (he basically invented Kenan's look), it is quite brilliant in and of itself, as is all of Tan's work.

New Super-Man continues to impress and is one of DC Comics' best regular mainstream superhero reads.

Rating: 9/10
