The Odyssey continues in the second issue, the opening panels has Hessian, the leader of the Amazons and her group of women warriors facing off against trolls.

Although this is the second issue it is a self contained story that while reading the premiere issue helps it is unnecessary to appreciate the tale or art. Grevioux cleverly provides enough background without a full recap that the comic reader jumping into the series with this issue knows what is going on and the stakes. And the stakes seem to be a battle of faiths, again norse mythology versus Greco-Roman myth is thematically woven throughout this comic.

Benjamin’s art is again a sharp complement to the story, it is truly a gorgeous style.

As I mentioned this is a self contained comic within the greater story arc,  but it ends on a cliff hanger making this reader for one very excited about what is coming next.

This series has continued it’s fine literate intelligent story telling laced with mythical and literary references in a beautiful visual story telling and I am eager to continue the series.
