Hello again my comic book pals. I am continuing here my review of the latest X-Men crossover called Second Coming. Here I am reviewing part three in the crossover New Mutants #12.

So let's talk about the book. Lots of action in this one folks. The team that Cyclops sent to rescue Hope engages William Stryker and his human cohorts. Illyana is about to teleport Hope to Utopia but Stryker is ready for her. He fires a gun prepared just for her. Her magic backfires and some tentacles appear and takes her into limbo. The rest of the mutants battle it out against the humans but they are outnumbered. Warren transforms into Archangel, massacres the humans, and cuts Stryker in half. Cyclops sends a new teleporter, Arial, to replace Illyana. In the chaos, Cable and Hope flee the scene. Meanwhile, the new mutants attack Cameron Hodge's home base. The battle is fierce and intense. The New Mutants have the element of surprise so they quickly gain the upper hand. Then, Cameron Hodge gets personally involved. Merging with his old battle suit, (in a visual that has to be seen to be believed) he goes after his attackers. The battle is fierce but Hodge is winning. Karma tries to possess him but it backfires and Hodge goes directly after her impaling her thigh with one of his robotic claws. Meanwhile, something is happening in the basement of Utopia where X-Men enemies are being held. And that's the book.

So let's talk opinions. Now here is what I call story progression. Lots of things occurring. A few little sub-plots are being laid down. Two giant battle scenes. Excellent use of Karma's powers. Archangel unleashed is sweet. The art is very clean. I'm getting into it now.

Overall, I would rate this book a 8.5 out of 10. The art is good. The story is very strong and there's lots of action. That's my opinion folks. Take it or leave it.
