Michael Cray’s handler sends him to kill Oliver Queen who has a personal island where he recruits veterans and chases them to test their survival skills as he dresses as Green Arrow. Cray must infiltrate his network and kill him. Will the assassin get the better of the archer?

There is some tension with Cray’s handler which should be explored in future issues. This reimagining of Cray also show that his parents are alive, unlike the earlier version from Wildstorm comics. I’m interested in the way the concept of Green Arrow and Oliver Queen was twisted for this series which of course, happens in another universe than the regular DC Comics universe. The only concern that I have is that Oliver Queen was disabled too quickly and his potential for more stories has not been explored. I would not like this series to turn into – let’s kill a justice leaguer of the month. Barry Allen has been hinted at for the next issue and it does not sound like he’ll survive in one piece either.
There is a bit of a Guy Davis quality to N. Steven Harris’s work where his line is not as steady. This could be the lack of inks playing tricks. One thing is that colourist Dearbhla Kelly is the wrong pick for such a style. When art is this loose, the colours must pick up the slack and reinforce the looseness to give the comic coherence.
