Renowned artist and comic book pioneer, Jerry Robinson died at the age of 89 on Wednesday night. Robinson is often credited as the co-creator of characters like Batman's sidekick, Robin the Boy Wonder, and their notorious nemesis, the Joker (although there's a bit of contention over that last one). After his legendary comic book career, Jerry Robinson went on to create the newspaper strip "Flubs and Fluffs" in the New York Daily News. Jerry was also well-known for his activism in the case of Siegel and Schuster's rights to Superman.

For fans, it seems like we'd just seen Mr. Robinson at San Diego Comic Con, as friendly and vivacious as ever. We've truly lost one of the greats. Our best wishes go out to Jerry's family at this time.
