Part two of Harley Bat’s journey, as our heroine has been transformed into a bat creature by Francine Langstrom. Why? Well, we’re not sure, and neither is the Gang of Harley’s, who ponder the circumstances of Harley’s “nonconformity.”

The greater problem is changing Harley back, and for that, they’ve recruited Kirk Langstrom, who developed the Man-Bat formula in the first place. Only now it’s become an addiction, one from which he has not quite recovered.

This story may significantly alter the direction of the series, as writer Frank Tieri opens the door to a new path for Harley. I am unable to say if long-time writing team of Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti will return. If so, perhaps not any time soon.

Regardless, it sets up a conflict to be explored in subsequent issues. It may not entirely place Harley on the side of the angels – and that’s okay – but it may establish a less villainous role within the DC Universe, Suicide Squad or not.
