I'm glad that the venture is "led by a series focused on 'Daredevil.'" Daredevil has been one of my, and many other Marvel Comics fans', favorite street level Marvel Comics' hero, especially under the guidance of Mark Waid recently. The Frank Miller run on
Daredevil, regardless of what you
think of Miller, remains one of the greatest runs by a creator on a Marvel Comics hero ever. Marvel Comics recently regained the rights to the Daredevil on screen property and I am personally glad to see that they are moving on it quickly...even if it isn't a feature film that they are developing. Who knows, many feature films spin out of television series, so maybe
Daredevil and
The Defenders feature films will spin out of these new shows.
According to Newsarama the series will begin in 2015. Looks like there are even bigger profits, and bigger Marvel Comics' fan appreciation, headed Marvel TV, ABC, and Nexflix's way. I for one hope the series are really profitable. Who knows where this deal will lead? If Guardians of The Galaxy can get a movie and Daredevil can get a TV series, could a good Moon Knight, Dr. Strange, or Elektra series be far behind? This Marvel Maniac, for one, seriously hopes so.
